The Biltmore House, on the 8,000 acres of gardens, forests, and farmland Estate in Asheville, is the largest privately owned house in the United States. The Biltmore House is a French Renaissance château. The house is built of brick and stone, and features four stories, 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces. The interior of the house is lavishly decorated with art, furniture, and tapestries from around the world.
We went to Biltmore for their annual Christmas Display and House Tour the beginning of November. Although we don’t think the House Tour quite worth the cost nor that it lived up to the hype about it, it was still very impressive and beautiful. Below are some photos of the Candlelight Tour we took. There are a lot of pictures but they are all beautiful. If you have ever been curious about the inside of the Biltmore House these will give you some idea of what it is like.
The Estate grounds are amazing. Extremely well maintained, clean, and beautiful. We were lucky that the foliage was still close to the height of fall color. Below are photos of some the areas called the Bass Pond with the Biltmore Waterfall, The Lagoon, views along the French Broad River, and some of the beautiful trees.
We stayed on the Biltmore Estate at Antler Village and Winery in the Village Hotel. Antler Village was decorated beautifully for the Christmas celebration.
